merge a github pull request into your fork

From time to time you might find yourself in need to use an open source project from many of the free git hosting sites like github, gitlab or bitbucket

However you might find that the project has an open issue and hasn't been updated for a while

The issue might have been fixed by contributor but the core maintainer is not available to review and merge

This is how you can merge a github pull request from a contributor before the maintainer

cd parent-directory-where-notion-py-is-checked-out
# update upstream
git remote add upstream https://github.com/jamalex/notion-py.git

fetch pr branch

cd notion-py
git fetch upstream pull/10/head:marfixz
# marfix is a local branch name

merge

git checkout marfixz
# now merge into your current branch
git merge marfixz
